Mother Bird and Her Naughty Chick

There was a mother bird waiting for her eggs to hatch. In the end the eggs hatched and mother bird saw her babies. She loved and cared for them. As the time passed they grow up and learned to fly. One of them was different from others. He was the most inquisitive and naughty one. One day he was so bored and wanted to go out but knowing that his mother would not let him go alone he made a plan. He said:
- Mam, can I play with my sister on that branch.
- Why do not you play here?
- But our nest is too small to play for us.
- Ok then. You can go but please play on that branch. Do not go away because outside is dangerous for little birds like you. This caution is especially for you .
- Thank you mummy.

While they were playing, naughty bird escaped from there without being noticed. He was happy for being free in the forest and thought that he could go anywhere he wanted and discover new places to play. But he was not aware of the danger behind him; a greedy cat was there. When he realized the cat, he attempted to fly but failed. If only he had listened to his mother’s advice.
Suddenly his mother and sisters appeared on them. They started to peck the cat. The cat was afraid and escaped from there so naughty bird was saved thanks to his family. He was both happy and ashamed. He regretted lying to his family and promised himself that he would listen to his mother.

MORAL : No matter what the reason is we must not lie and we must listen to the advice of  elders.

I wrote this fable with my friend Hülya Çölgeçen. First we read and study the definition of the concepts fable and morals. Then according to the processes given on webquest we created our fable. Our rubric for this fable is here.
